Water Outage Update #3 February 19, 2021 (5:00pm)

As expected, our water towers are almost full and at time of turn on at 10:00 am tomorrow morning (February 20, 2021) we will have maximum storage capacity on hand.

We will begin turning on the system at 10:00 am. There are several meters in the area that have been turned off by request. We will then start turning those back on. If your faucets are on, you may hear a hissing sound coming from the faucet, once water starts coming out, please turn off the faucet.

If you notice any leak, immediate text “LEAK” with the  address to 817-888-1874 and we will dispatch someone to turn off the meter. If you can not text, please call.

If you wish to volunteer to assist in meter turn offs, please be at the Boyd Police Dept. 731 E. Rock Island at 8:00 am in the morning. If you have a crescent wrench, please bring one with you.

Do not expect high pressure immediately; this will be normal and will last throughout the day.

Again, I can not over emphasize this enough, only use water for emergency purposes. A Boil Notice is in effect for water used for consumption or cooking.

Water has been distributed inside the City Limits to those that were home. If you need more water, please go to the Pizza Place located at 110 W. Rock Island. They have a large supply of water to donate.

We must conserve what limited water we have, if not, it will not last until Walnut Creek SUD is fully back online.

It will take all of us working together, like we have seen time and time again throughout this ordeal.  Neighbors helping neighbors, it’s who we are, and it is what Boyd is.

Thank you and have a good evening.
