Pedro Contreras joined the Boyd Police Department in 2009 and currently serves in the patrol division of the Department. After graduating from Boyd High School in 1991, Pedro joined the Unites States Marine Corps. While enlisted he obtained the rank of Sergeant and received numerous commendations for his service in Iraq. After returning from duty, Pedro elected to continue serving his community by graduating the Weatherford Police Academy and returning to Boyd. Pedro is currently working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and holds an Master Peace Officer License through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement as well as an instructor's certificate. Pedro has also received numerous departmental commendations during his service with the Boyd Police Department including Officer of the Year awards in 2013 and 2016.
